The group who is made up of Nick Tozzo (drummer and percussionist), Nicolas Sanchez (bassist), and Mauro Lopez (guitarist) craft a genre-blending sound that drifts between the lush jungles of Colombia, the palm-lined streets of 1960s coastal Mexico, and the dusty cantinas of West Texas.Sanchezs Colombian roots, growing up listening to his parents beloved salsa and cumbia; Lopezs parents Mexican and American discography, which spanned from traditional Tejano to improvised jazz; and Tozzos love for jazz and salsa music, the latter stemming from his college years, leading him to study and live in Colombia to experience music greats first-handedly. All of this, paired with their undeniable chemistry and meshed with their now hometown Austins innovative creative sounds has led them to create the unique sonic movement that is The Animeros, a name inspired by Colombian shamans who would usher lost souls to their peace.Their journey took an unexpected turn when their music reached the ears of Dan Auerbach, the Grammy Award winning producer, songwriter, and frontman of The Black Keys. Auerbach first heard them by chance, music floating from an open hotel window that stopped him in his tracks. Captivated, he made a note to track them down, and within a yea

The Breaks brings together guitarist Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds), drummer Stanton Moore (Galactic), and organist Robert Walter (The Greyboy Allstars)three musicians whose collective groove has shaped the sound of contemporary funk for over two decades.Rooted in the tradition of late-60s organ trios and hard-hitting boogaloo, The Breaks pushes the sound forward with deep-pocket rhythms, tight arrangements, and fearless improvisation. Eddie Roberts sharp, melodic guitar work dances effortlessly over Stanton Moores explosive New Orleans-infused drum grooves, while Robert Walters signature Hammond organ tones tie it all together with grit and soul.Between them, theyve logged countless tours, recorded landmark albums, and collaborated with a whos-who of the modern jam, funk, and jazz worlds. But in The Breaks, the chemistry feels spontaneousthree kindred spirits locking into a groove and letting it ride. From sweaty club sets to major festival stages, The Breaks deliver a sound thats both deeply rooted and constantly evolvinga raw, joyful celebration of rhythm and musical conversation.

The band has continued to evolve, mixing in their own originals alongside twisted acoustic reimaginings of contemporary pop hits such as Lourde's "Royals" and cult classics such as Motârhead's "Ace of Spades." Coffee Zombie Collective takes the songs you love, or love to hate, and weaves them into medlies, or upside-down interpretations that always leaves audiences smiling. The band's high-energy stage performances whip audiences into a sing-along dance frenzy. The repeated on-stage mantra is "If you know the words, sing along. If you don't know the words, sing louder!" If you're at the show, you're part of the collective, and highly encouraged to contribute in the frisky, sweaty, ad-libbed sound explosion that is Coffee Zombie Collective. It's never the same show twice.

Moe's Alley presents the return of the mysterious allstar funk and soul jazz band Dusk Dept.! Thursday, October 22, 2026 Doors: 7pm // Show: 8pm $20 in advance // $25 day of the show 21+ DUSK DEPT. No names. No faces. Just sound. Dusk Dept. is a seven-piece collective emerging from the deep corners of the modern funk underground...a shadowy convergence of musicians whose fingerprints can be found on the grooves of Ghost-Note, Dumpstaphunk, Snarky Puppy, Daryl Johns, and other heavy hitters in the lineage of rhythm. Formed under the dim hum of late-night sessions and unmarked studio doors, Dusk Dept. keeps its members hidden beneath black hoods, trading ego for atmosphere, and identity for collective pulse. Onstage, the robes blur every boundary: between player and audience, between band and ritual, between now and the fever-dream memory of some after-hours sermon you can't quite recall. Their debut, a self-titled album arriving in May 2026 on Ear Up Records (founded by Jeff Coffin of the Dave Matthews Band), sounds like the meeting point of the sacred and the filthy; analog funk baptized in mystery. Seven players. Seven voices. One department in charge of the night shift. Dusk Dept. doesn't announce itself. It appears... a flicker of brass, a pulse of bass, a blur of motion under dim lights. Then it's gone, leaving behind only sweat, echo, and questions.

From the moment he heard Sugar Hill Gangs 1980 classic Rappers Delight, the Bay Area Hip Hop luminary knew hed found his calling. Twenty-five years later, LB has obliterated the stereotypes of what an MC is supposed to look like and captured the hearts of countless fans who gravitate to his distinctive voice. Hes now the only Asian-American MC to release 10 studios albums and the first to play major music festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza. From his Quannum Recordings debut with Latyrx,1997s The Album, to 2003s seminal solo album Later That Day, hes consistently pushed the boundaries of his craft. His newest project, Quite A Life, is like the exclamation point on his milestone year. Ten albums is a lot for any artist, let alone an indie artist who colored outside the lines, so to speak, LB says. Im just appreciative there was always somehow a path for me, no matter how impossible it seemed either on paper or in practice. As the first Asian-American to release a greatest hits compilation, hes pumped out multiple smash singles across four official studio albums. From Stop Complaining to Callin Out and I Like It, I Love It and I Changed My Mind, his material has always retained a musically eclectic feel.

Premier Cruz isa vibrant, annual tasting that celebrates Cabernet Sauvignon produced in the Santa Cruz Mountains American Viticulture Area (AVA).It's an opportunity to meet an array of Cabernet producers while enjoying world-class wines, gourmet bites and a silent wine auction. Since the late 1800's the Santa Cruz Mountains has been recognized as a premium Cabernet-producing region, when local winegrowers began to win acclaim in national and international competitions. At the Judgment of Paris in 1976, a blind tasting proved that California wines could equal and even surpass the great French wines. One of the twelve wines chosen to represent California was Ridge Vineyards' Monte Bello Cabernet from the Santa Cruz Mountains. The tasting was repeated in 2006 with the same vintages and the Ridge Monte Bello was judged the top-rated wine. The Santa Cruz Mountains is a special place for growing Mountain Cabernet. The region offers an array of individual microclimates, hot days and cool nights, marine influences, high elevations, distinctive soils and fruit from 80 acres or less, all contribute to the distinct flavor profiles of a mountain Cabernet unlike those of Napa or Sonoma. On Parlor Greens debut LP In Green We Dream, they announced their existence boldly to the welcoming arms of funky instrumental fans around the world. Now, two years later, theyre back to up the ante. Three true masters of their respective crafts: Tim Carman (formerly of GA-20) on drums, Jimmy James (True Loves) on guitar, and Adam Scone (Scone Cash Players, The Sugarman 3) on organ. Seasoned and soulful pros coming together to make infectiously funky instrumental jams.Parlor Greens are truly in top form: tour tight and more confident than ever in who they are and where theyre going. The albums opener, Eat Your Greens, kicks the doors off with a Charles Earland-inspired four on the floor beat, with Jimmy and Scone driving the tune down the tracks like an overloaded freight train, it simply cannot be stopped. On Red Dog, the group channels the absolute heaviest shade of early Rs crunchy guitar paving the way for both he and Scone to take scorching solos. Lions Mane shows a slightly more sophisticated side of the trio, with nods to one of Scones organ mentors, the incomparable Dr. Lonnie Smith. Not to be outdone by his bandmates, Tim Carman shows off why he plays the best shuffle this side of the Mississippi on Letter To Brother Ben, a gospel-tinged shuffler.

Stepping outside the United States was less a retreat than a shift in perspective, creating distance to recognize a new sound that had been slowly taking shape among them. im DADA quickly revealed its character: more propulsive, more candid, and their most structurally deliberate work to date.Working alongside experimental duo Lorelle Meets the Obsolete at their studio El Derrumbe the sessions folded community into the album, though its emotional core had already formed over months of pre-production. Half of Holy Wave is Mexican, with roots in the El Paso border region, so recording in Ensenada felt intuitive and relaxed. Joo Joo Ashworth, mixing engineer and longtime friend, also provided a pivotal presence helping crystallize the albums rhythmic language and subtly expanding the bands sound. The songs began reflecting conversations about fatherhood and partnership, breakups and estrangement, the queasy acceleration of AI, and what it means to remain present and principled while the world lurches unpredictably forward

Fans around the world can be found singing the chorus of the Roger Clyne-penned fan favorite Mekong and toasting their glasses in unison to celebrate life through rock-n-roll. But the inspiration for the song dates back to the time Roger went to Taipei, Taiwan, as a college student to teach English during the day and busk with his guitar at night for money.Today, as Clyne has just released his 11th studio album, he continues to transform his life experiences, inspirations, observations and his own muses into timeless music. And whether hes wearing his Converse high tops, boots or sandals, Clynes blend of punk rock, americana, indie-pop and mariachi influences have made him, drummer PH Naffah, guitarist Jim Dalton and bassist Nick Scropos collectively known as Roger Clyne one of Americas best live rock-n-roll bands.Starting with the seminal Tempe quartet, The Refreshments, Clyne and Naffah put the fun in rock & roll during the 90s grunge era with a sense of humor. They also started what would become a trademark sound on all future albums by adding mariachi horns, something Clyne was influenced by while in college studying Cultural Anthropology with an ethnography study of mariachis during a three-month Spanish-immersion stay with a local family in Ensenada, Mexico.

Spencer first made his name in the mid-80s with combative noise merchants Pussy Galore (best heard on the 1987 album Right Now!), whose raw, purposefully off-putting style and deliberately offensive lyrics made them one of the most polarizing bands of the day. After Pussy Galores breakup, Spencer launched the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, whose frantic but wildly energetic style mixed elements of punk, Rs approach was easily recognizable, he was able to fuse his ideas with a variety of collaborators, including the raw Rs Spencer Sings the Hits, and then by launching a new band, Jon Spencer s Spencer Gets It Lit. Spencer teamed up with the bassist and drummer of the Bobby Lees for his third solo effort, 2024s Sick of Being Sick!
