Sometimes, musical prodigies pop up in unlikely places. John-Roberts made his first TV appearance at 13-years-old on The Ellen Show. The last two years have been locked in at warped speed and John-Robert is traveling the stages of the world. Playing traditional folk and Appalachian country and peppering it with the vernacular of the 21st Century, the songs range from stripped down ballads into sonic explorations. This isnโt the Cosmic Cowboy of The Burrito Brothers, but more the cool Lyle Lovett of younger years. John-Roberts makes it all his own with vocals that crackle and sparkle. Fences By August Wilson Directed by Susan Dalian August Wilson joins the Santa Cruz Shakespeare stage for the first time in 45 years. Troy Maxson is one of Wilsonโs great creations; Shakespearean in scope; a wordsmith and brilliant storyteller. He has survived the terrible trauma of his past and built himself a good life. But the backbone of that life, the spine that keeps it standing strong, is his wife Rose. Like all of Wilsonโs best work, Fences is both mythic and intimate; the questions it asks both human and eternal. Fences runs July 28 โ August 28. Tickets available for purchase starting May 1. Angelo De Augustine returns with Angel in Plainclothes, his fifth album and most inspired work yetโa deeply felt rendering of his multi-year journey of healing and renewal. The record showcases De Augustineโs powerful melodies and poignant lyrics across tracks like the haunting elegy โEmpty Shell,โ the hopeful โSpirit of the Unknown,โ and standout psychedelic country piece โMirror Mirror.โ Themes explore lifeโs fragility, second chances, and picking up the pieces after an undiagnosed illness forced him to re-learn basic abilities: โIโm trying to figure out who I am now,โ De Augustine says. โI feel like I may have been given a second chance at life, and Iโd like to live it.โ Angelo De Augustine Website (((folkYEAH!))) His sophomore release Coming Up For Air was produced by the legendary Peter Frampton (Davy already has a recognizable style. Hes definitely the gunslinger guitarist of the 21st century,- Peter Frampton), with subsequent tours seeing him supporting and sharing the stage with acts such as Jeff Beck, The Who, Joe Bonamassa, Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Thorogood, Brian Setzer, the Sammy Hagar-fronted supergroup Chickenfoot, and guitar hero Joe Satriani who called Davy My favorite modern Bluesman. Knowles has several top-5 Billboard Blues charting albums under his belt, high profile TV appearances (Jimmy Kimmel Live and CBS Good Morning America among others), and has been praised with high accolades from heroes and press alike - but its not just the music industry who has taken note. Knowles was also the very first artist in history to perform live to the International Space Station directly from mission control in Houston TX, and has had his music taken to the Space Station by two astronauts, Nicole Stott and Ron Garan, on their missions orbiting Earth.Never one to be satisfied or to sit still, Knowles has explored multiple genres and styles, from the hard-hitting 70s classic rock influenced album Three Miles From Avalon, to

5:30-7:30pm Northern California songwriter Aaron Blyth is a little bit everything. Raised on the beaches of Hawaii and in the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest, his music is as diverse and eclectic as his background. Pulling from strong influences of Folk, Rock, Blues and Funk, this singer/songwriter blends his favorite flavors into a uniquely energetic sound. From his days of playing Tom Petty covers at bonfire parties in high school, to playing with his band Soul Plain in college, Aaron has been spreading his music around California for the last 12 years. The music has a positive message and energy that is both sonically simple yet lyrically deep.

Free jazz nights every other Thursday at Abbott Square Market. All ages welcome to enjoy local jazz artists in an outdoor plaza setting.
To say that singer Marina Crouse is a jazz musician is technically true. However, itโs also a vast understatement of her talents. This Bay Area musician can sing the poetry of jazz, the emotions of the blues and the romance of traditional Mexican boleros. Her 2022 album Canto de Mi Corazon (Song of my Heart) is a testament to that. Itโs her first all-Spanish album and it dares anyone with ears not to shed a tear at least once while listening. Itโs beautiful, sad, ecstatic, and timeless, much like the artist herself. This evening, be prepared for a true Bay Area gem. -Mat Weir; Good Times Santa Cruz

When it comes to the underground hip hop greats, there are several lists one can compile, but all would include Atmosphere. Formed in 1996 by rapper Slug and DJ Ant in Minneapolis, Atmosphere has been dropping bars, knowledge and beats to hip hop lovers throughout the world. They were part of the original collective that would later form Rhymesayers record label, which would later sign acts like Living Legends, Murs, Aesop Rock, Brother Ali, Evidence, and Dilated Peoples. To see them is a blessing, but to see Atmosphere with the Bayโs The Pharcyde, DJ Abilities, Abstract Rude, and Plain Ole Bill is one night people will be talking about for years to come. -Mat Weir; Good Times Santa Cruz

The Musers are the rascal Megan McLaughlin, bass sage Tom Kuhn, and lilting Leslie Jackson. Together they provide a safe space to get goofy. The Musers harken back to The Banana Slug String Band and even farther back to The New Zoo Revue. But instead of Freddie, Henrietta and Charlie, itโs Megan, Tom and Leslie. The Musers intentionally seek a playful level of songwriting and engagement with the audience. The Musers are a great palate cleanser, like a mouthful of lime sorbet to replace the banter of monkey chatter that takes up our days. Time to expand your joy with music. -DNA; Good Times Santa Cruz
Ani DiFranco was indie before it was cool. The New York-born singer-songwriter was an independent artist before it was practical for most. But DiFranco has always done things her way, with artistic principle rather than profit as a foundational goal. Sheโs a hero to her legion of fans both for her outside-the-machinery approach to her art as well as her dedicated activism, and of course her emotionally direct lyrics. With two dozen studio albums (and even more live releases) to her credit, DiFranco has a deep catalog from which to draw at her lively, engaging shows. It was these legendary sold-out performances at the famed Cafe Au Go Go in Greenwich Village that eventually led to the release of their phenomenal debut album, Live at the Cafe Au Go Go. The Blues Project made a musical revolution, turning many people on to the American blues heritage.
The Musers Band from Sonoma County. Soaring harmonies, original songs, hot picking.
Presented by: Ruby Hernandez, Adron Beene, Susan von Thun or Erin Carlson-Jones with Joyce Leonard. Each Sunday, one of the musicians performs a sound bath. This is a meditative experience where participants are immersed in sound vibrations produced by instruments like gongs and singing bowls. The goal is to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance mental clarity by allowing the sounds to wash over the body and mind. Joyce offers Reiki, providing a moment of personal attention, inviting you to settle more fully into stillness and the healing experience.

Surf rock traces its roots back to Southern California in the late โ50s and early 1960s. Country and western has a much lengthier pedigree. Honoluluโs Twin Fin draws proudly from both of those musical traditions, finding additional inspiration in pop of the โ60s and more modern sources like โ90s alternative rock. Combining those varied textures into an original blend, the group began releasing singles in 2022. A pair of EPs followed: 2023โs Bandaid and Saint of Summer in 2024. After that, it was back to singles, and in 2026 Twin Fin recorded another EP, the playfully-titled Songs I Never Wrote. Circle Change opens. -Bill Kopp; Good Times Santa Cruz

We came across the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons in a book of traditional Japanese ghost stories. I like the idea of people hiding and being able to hear the madness but not see it. Its the fear of the unknown.Whereas 2018s Black Heaven featured shorter songs and vocals from guitarist Isaiah Mitchell on much of the albuman unprecedented move for the San Diego power triotheir latest is a return to the epic instrumentals Earthless made their unmistakable name on. Jazz. Rock. Jazz-rock. Across more than four decades, legendary drummer Simon Phillips has shown an uncanny ability to excel in most any musical environment. Precision, intensity, and emotion are hallmarks of Phillipsโ sound in every setting. Working with many of the worldโs most prominent musicians from an early age, he has repeatedly made his mark through scores of historic recordings and tours around the globe. While the first Protocol release was in 1989, Phillipsโ compositions really began to gel with the Protocol II album in 2013. Protocol II was firmly established as one of the truly great bands in jazz-rock history. Phillips toured extensively as leader in 2019, celebrating Protocolโs 30th Anniversary and playing tunes from each of the previous albums. 2022 saw the release of Protocol V. The band features Ernest Tibbs on bass, Otmaro Ruiz on keys, Phillip Whack on saxophone, and Alex Sill on guitar. Simon Phillips & Protocol 6 is a high energy ensemble with the Phillips signature that weโve come to expect from the Protocol legacy. Appropriately named after his bandmates nicknames, this record is a more cohesive band statement than his previous self-recorded work. Most tracks were cut over a five day span, performed live at the OK Theater in Enterprise, OR with engineer Bart Budwig. They were learned and workshopped on the spot, thus capturing very honest, energetic, and fly by the seat of your pants moments. The record was mixed underground at Vin Christophers studio, Heavy Meadow in Portland, Oregon.Posh, Poodle, Krystal and Toe takes Kaplows singularly unique, honest and raw songwriting style and propels it forward with spontaneous collaboration, undeniable rhythm, and sound imagery. The record will be released on 5.17.24 on Fluff and Gravy Records.EMILY AFTONEmily Afton makes timeless alt-pop for the zeitgeist. Described by NPR as Utterly charming electro-folk... Her songs seem wary of life, but still positive, Afton is following her 2024 album CIRCAA, with a new alt-country EP that trades polished beats for pedal steel, while retaining the vulnerability and emotional honesty that have become her signature. Her new EP begins rolling out with the title track, Its You, available on all platforms July 24. Stay tuned for more shows and releases from Emily Afton!

Audrey Stanley Grove: Rockapella
Formed in 1986, Rockapella rocketed to stardom in 1993 with their hit single โWhere in the World is Carmen Sandiego?โ (featured in the PBS TV series of the same name). Led by Scott Leonardโs signature high tenor voice and mind-blowing arrangements and Jeff Thacherโs one-of-a-kind vocal percussion, Rockapella has been a global phenomenon for nearly 40 years, setting the standard for all a cappella vocal groups. The โbandโ (famous for their ability to imitate the sounds of instruments with only their voices) has been featured everywhere from the Boston Pops to the Muppets, and their voices have been the soundtrack for everything from Folgers and Doritos to Aflac and HBO. Click the link in the orange button above for tickets!
Since the early โ90โs when they first achieved national television fame on PBSโs Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?, theyโve toured the globe and provided a funky powerful soundtrack to several generations of vocal music fans, while keeping it fresh along the way. With buckets of catchy original pop songs, and complete contemporary revisions of sparkling pop and soul classics, plus an unbeatable Christmas tour and catalog, this group has always been the one to watch. โOften imitated โ never duplicatedโ applies here. Youโd be hard-pressed to find a more influential group out there in this Era of A Cappella, with movies and network television a cappella exposure, a cappella Grammy awards, and innumerable college groups on campuses everywhere. As one of the progenitors of the astonishing full-band sound of โcontemporaryโ a cappella, Rockapella has shown every audience the raw power of pure vocal talent and originality. โThereโs nothing in the way between the audience and the us; itโs very human music,โ says Rockapellaโs human beatbox, Jeff Thacher. No instruments, no hidden tracks, no mirrorsโฆand never lame. Now theyโre better than ever! โWe make it rock and make it interesting,โ explains Scott Leonard, the groupโs chief songwriter, arranger, and an architect of their ever-evolving and imitated dynamic sound. USA Today summed up their lasting appeal: โThe best musical instrument of all is the human voice โ if youโve seen Rockapella, you know thatโs the truth.โ The New York Times agrees: theyโre โPure entertainmentโ! โPeople have a hard time believing itโs just us making all of that music. Itโs still those same familiar elements that make modern band music: percussion, bass, melody and harmonies,โ says Scott. With a cappella groups multiplying across the world, Jeff adds โwe know our longtime success is in the art of it โ itโs not what you do, but how you do it!โ Rockapella has indeed proven that original pop & soul magic onstage is what sets them apart.

This juggernaut of a band blends rock n roll with folk music while maintaining the sensibilities and attitudes that come from growing up on a healthy diet of punk rock. The leader of the band is The Sam Chase himself, a natural storyteller with a voice that sounds as if it has weathered many an epic tale. With boot stomping orchestration and lyrics that have been immortalized on the tattooed skin of their fans, The Sam Chase t mess around. These are the warriors we need in these troubled times.THANKS BUDDYThanks Buddy are friends playing for the love of it. Rock-n-roll sprinkled with Americana, Punk and Folk. Established in Santa Cruz, California in 2013
Singer Honus Honus (born with the comparatively conventional name Ryan Kattner) fronts Man Man, a deeply experimental rock project that features multiple musicians playing a wide array of instruments. The band debuted with 2004โs The Man in a Blue Turban with a Face. Songs like โ10lb Moustacheโ defy easy categorization but feature elements of cabaret and music hall. Subsequent releases were no more mainstream, showcasing Honusโ distinctive and idiosyncratic approach to music. The groupโs latest release is a skewed take on country-folk, โSo it Goes,โ a collaboration with Fingers & the Outlaws (who are, fitting enough, actually Man Man). -Bill Kopp; Good Times Santa Cruz

Moe's Alley presents reggae legend Clinton Fearon & Boogie Brown Band! Saturday, September 5, 2026 Doors: 8pm / Show: 9pm $30 in advance / $35 day of the show 21+ * All sales are final * Avoid scammers! Only purchase tickets from moesalley.com or ticketweb.com * Tickets requested by email will be delivered 3 days prior to the event * Will Call tickets will be available at the door on the day of the event ==== CLINTON FEARON Born in Jamaica, Clinton became the bassist, vocalist and lyricist of the mythic Gladiators at the age of 19. He spent 18 years with the band and signed several songs for The Gladiators, hits and classics like Chatty Chatty Mouth, Richman Poorman, On The Other Side, Can You Imagine How I Feel, Let Jah Be Praised, One Love, Untrue Girl, and more. Clinton Fearon was also a session musician for different studios in Jamaica, including with producers Coxsone Dodd at Studio One and Lee โScratchโ Perryโs at Black Ark, but also at Channel One, Aquarius, Harry J, Randyโs, etc. In these studios, Clinton Fearon composed some everlasting bass lines for well-known artists like Yabby You, Jimmy Riley, Max Romeo, Junior Byles and many others. After leaving Jamaica in 1987, Clinton Fearon started a new career in Seattle. Him and some of the musicians of The Gladiators took advantage of the extra time remaining on their visa, at the end of the US tour, to start a band in the Northwest: The Defenders. The band built a nice following in the area until they split after five years. And finally Clinton Fearon formed his own band in the mid 90s with local musicians in Seattle: Clinton Fearon and The Boogie Brown Band. Since 2019, Clinton Fearon also teamed up with The Riddim Source for his live performances in Europe and for his most recent albums, including โJah Is Loveโ released June 2026
A Tribute To Sly & The Family Stone
This ensemble of mostly Bay Area/Marin musicians played what was supposed to be a โtwo-offโ Sly & The Family Stone tribute this past March at Hopmonk Novato and Moeโs Alley in Santa Cruz. Magic happened during those two shows, and everyone agreed, just with facial expressions and body language, that we must keep this going and do more shows. Dan โLeboโ Lebowitz, Vicki Randle, Ray White, Mookie Siegel, Ezra Lipp, Steve Adams, Marcus Stephens and Brendan Liu were the perfect ensemble to interpret Slyโs music those two fantastic evenings. Vocals, instrumentation, passion and spirit all turned up to 11. For the September โ26 shows, we are thrilled to announce that Natalie Cressman will be joining the ensemble on trombone and vocals. Sheโs a tenured member of the Trey Anastasio Band among other incredible projects. This project is FUN and it fully delivered in March. That was just a warmup! These Sept shows will be talked about and cherished for a very long time! Tickets: Booking powered by FareHarbor fareharbor.com

World Class Music Live Presents: Ballakรฉ Sissoko & Piers Faccini
Two decades after their first ever collaboration, British-Italian folk songwriter, Piers Faccini, and Malian kora virtuoso, Ballakรฉ Sissoko, return with a mesmerizing album. This new and captivating musical dialogue โ between a prodigious instrumentalist at the height of his powers and a gifted songwriter and wordsmith โ deftly bridges continents and traditions, inventing new song forms. The seeds of Our Calling were first planted when Sissoko and Faccini met at Label Bleu in the early 2000s. Their friendship grew as they linked and explored uncharted paths between Manding traditions and folksong forms. With its ten finely crafted tracks, Our Calling is a sonic and narrative praise song for migration in all its manifestations: seeds borne by the winds; Nightingales flying between West Africa and Europe at the turn of the seasons; humans, across the centuries, and along trade routes, sharing musical practices and rhythms. The albumโs originality is that it feels deeply Malian at its core, while also being seamlessly infused with an essence of folk songwriting; the two elements blending without one ever overshadowing the other. The duoโs ambition when they began imagining the album was clear: the musical language begins and ends with Manding traditions and modes. The songs had that creative brief. Their melodies, although sung in English, are constructed and stepped along Manding lines. The originality of Sissoko and Facciniโs dialogue is best exemplified with the song โIf Nothing is Realโ โ a song that succeeds in finding a home away from home, both on the African and European continents. It is a testament to the Nightingale, or Sorofรฉ Kono in Bambara, the songbird that first inspired these old friends to compose music of their own calling. World Class Music Presents: Salar Nader & Quraishi: The Afghan Music Project
Afghan tabla virtuoso Salar Nader curates a program of the rich and varied legacy of classical compositions and folk melodies of this ancient Central Asian nation. At the heart of this musical odyssey lies the enchanting sounds of the rubab, Afghanistanโs revered 21-stringed lute, renowned for its hauntingly soulful timbre. Accompanied by the tablaโs rhythmic pulse, Salarโs innovative fusion of Afghan and Indian percussion draws out the musical parallels with Hindustani music, exploring the essence of Ragas and the profound connection between two diverse yet harmonious traditions. Salar Nader, disciple of the legendary Ustad Zakir Hussain, has toured extensively with NEA Jazz Master Stanley Clarke, appeared on Broadway with โThe Kite Runner,โ and took part in a series of recordings of the music of Afghanistan and Central Asia sponsored by Aga Khan Music Initiative for the Smithsonian Folkways label. Quraishi Roya is a legendary master and composer of the rubab, Afghanistanโs national instrument. A self-taught musician originally from Kabul, he is widely celebrated for keeping the rich tradition of classical Afghan court music and regional folk styles alive. In a time when music has been banned in Afghanistan, the music of these master musicians serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and importance of preserving cultural heritage.
John Pizzarelli has had a multi-faceted career as a jazz guitarist, vocalist and bandleader. Internationally known for classic standards, late-night ballads, and the cool jazz flavor he brings to his performances and recordings, he has recently established himself as the consummate entertainer and radio program host with the launch of "Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli" a nationally syndicated radio program co-hosted with his wife, Broadway star Jessica Molaskey. Born on April 6, 1960, in Paterson, New Jersey, Pizzarelli has been playing guitar since age six, following in the tradition of his father, guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli. Hanging out with his father, John was exposed to all the great jazz music of the era, from Erroll Garner and Les Paul to Django Reinhardt. He began playing with his father at age 20, before going out on his own. John Pizzarelli has recorded as a bandleader for RCA, Chesky, Stash and Novus, and in 1997 appeared in the Broadway musical Dream, a revue of Johnny Mercer songs. Along the way, Pizzarelli and his band have earned rave reviews. Reviewers often compare the Pizzarelli Trio to jazz icons such as Nat "King" Cole: "The John Pizzarelli Trio has never been tighter, and Pizzarelli himself has never been looser," said The Village Voice of a recent New York show. "We can say weโre as lucky to listen to [Pizzarelli] as Nat Cole fans were in the years before he became a legend." For Pizzarelli, the comparison to the Nat "King" Cole Trio is the highest of compliments. "I've always said in my concerts that Nat 'King' Cole is why I do what I do." Using greats like Nat "King" Cole and Frank Sinatra and the songs of writers like Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen as touchstones, Pizzarelli is among the prime contemporary interpreters of the great American songbook, bringing to the work his signature style and brilliant guitar playing. With Telarcโs recent release of Dear Mr. Sinatra, an homage to 'Ol' Blue Eyes,' Pizzarelli's album count now stands a

John is an established professional musical performer and plays acoustic shows around the San Francisco Bay area. Hailing from the deeply blues + jazz saturated upstate NY city, Rochester. Roots running deep, he was captivated by the intensity and emotion of monumental east and west coast blues, rock and jazz improvisors of the 30's, 60's, 70's and more recent modern Jam Band, Groove and Indie Rock acts. Surrounded by a musical family, John first picked up the harmonica at the young age of 14. Heavily influenced by harmonica playing Grandfather + Uncle and by many other famous Harmonica greats. He spent hours on end emulating and playing along with friends and recordings. In 2003 when during a major life changing summer John decided to pack his entire life into his jeep and trek cross-country and relocated here in San Francisco. The musical evolution of Old Blind Dogs began in Aberdeen in 1992 with roots that grew from the eclectic music scene that flourished in the Granite City during the early 90โs. Four musicians from very different musical backgrounds came together to create a full-time professional touring band with the aim of showcasing the rich tradition of songs and tunes of the North East of Scotland on an international stage. โLike many of the early flag bearing Scottish folk bands, the Old Blind Dogs line up has faced inevitable changes over the years but the core values at the band's musical heart continue to beat strong. The current band line up has been settled for several years now and consists of some of Scotland's finest traditional musicians at the top of their game. Original member Jonny Hardie (fiddle/vocals) is joined by Aaron Jones (cittern/guitar/vocals) and Donald Hay (percussion/vocals) and along with Mike Katz (pipes/whistles) they collectively comprise one of the hottest live tickets on the traditional Scottish music scene today. As inductees to the BBC ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 'Trad Music Hall of Fame', the 'Dogs' will celebrate thirty-five years on the road in 2027. Their fourteenth studio album, 'Knucklehead Circusโ, is a joyous, uplifting and fun album full of compelling energy and intoxicating rhythm on which โOBD' continue to innovate within their tradition while faithfully revealing its essence. The band is in the process of recording their 15th CD, and promise to bring some of that new music as well as much loved favorites into the intimate Kuumbwa Jazz Center. I spent that year living in a barn with the squirrels and the birds, on my own most of the time, and I discovered so much about music and how to create it, says the Tennessee-bred singer/songwriter. Instead of going into a studio with a producer for two weeks, I just waited for the record to build itself. Id get up and go outside, see a butterfly and connect that with some impulsive thought Id had three months ago, and suddenly a song Id been working on would make sense. Thats how the whole album came to be.The follow-up to 2018s critically acclaimed Wide Awake, If I Were a Butterfly finds Baxter co-producing alongside Tim OSullivan (Grace Potter, The Head and the Heart) and Kai Welch (Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull), slowly piecing together the albums patchwork of lush psychedelia and Beatlesesque pop. In addition to working at Thunder Sound (the Kentucky studio he called home for months on end), Baxter recorded in California, Texas, Tennessee, and Washington, enlisting a remarkable lineup of musicians: Shakey Graves, Lennon Stella, several members of Cage the Elephant, Zac Cockrell of Alabama Shakes, Morning Teleportations Travis Goodwin, and legendary Motown drummer Miss Bobbye Hall, among many others. In an especially meaningful turn, two of the albums tracks feature the elegant pedal

Brass Queens is a female-led, New York-based brass band that has been dominating the brass band scene since 2019. Finding that they shared similar frustrations about the emerging brass band scene in New York City, co-founders Alex Harris and Ally Chapel formed a group dedicated to showcasing the talents of female musicians in a landscape that was dominated by male musicians and bandleaders. After debuting in March 2019, Brass Queens grew to be a fixture in the local music scene and was dubbed โthe hardest working band in townโ by their peers. The Queens gained a dedicated following through outdoor performances on the streets of Brooklyn and playing pop-up events in their community through the pandemic. Now, a core value of the band is to play for as many audiences as possible to increase the visibility of female musicians. The band has developed a signature style that sits right at the intersection of the Big Apple and the Big Easy. Their sound is deeply inspired by, and pays homage to, the New Orleans brass band tradition while injecting the upbeat, multifaceted energy of their New York home into each performance. In November 2023, the band released their first full-length album titled Black & Gold, which is an ode to the Brass Queenโs incredible early fanbase who supported the band from the virtual performances and socially-distanced street corners during the COVID-19 pandemic, to the crowded clubs and packed venues of today. Less than a year later, Brass Queens released their second full-length album and their first album of all-original music, titled Hot Tub Sessions Vol. I. Bruno Justi & Ram Dass & Snatam Kaur & Sukhmani Kaur Rayat
By Thy Grace: 25 Years of Mantra North America & Canada Tour 2026 In 2026, Snatam Kaur brings By Thy Grace: 25 Years of Mantra to audiences across North America and Canada. This is a continuation of a decades long journey of shared chanting, prayer, and healing through sound. These concerts are gatherings where stillness, devotion, and collective voice come together to create an experience of oneness and healing. Each concert begins gently and meditatively, building into moments of deep joy and powerful celebration, and finally, ending with stillness and prayer. Together, we will chant the mantras and songs that have held us through lifeโs greatest challenges and joys, honoring their capacity to bring us back to ourselves time and time again. The title By Thy Grace reflects the heart of this tour. After twenty-five years of recording and sharing her music, Snatam views this work as something carried by the grace of the mantras themselves, the musicians and collaborators who helped to bring them into the world, and the communities who have welcomed these songs into their lives. What began in humble beginnings as unfamiliar sounds to her audiences, has become a living language of healing, known deeply through personal experience. Accompanied by her band, Ram Dass (piano, clarinet, vocals), Bruno Justi (guitar, flute, vocals), and Sukhmani (percussion, vocals), along with some surprise guests, Snatam will share music spanning her discography, featuring well known classics as well as deeply personal songs from Snatamโs history that have never before been performed live, spanning 25 years of music that has become a soundtrack for healing across generations. Each night becomes a remembrance of inner stillness, shared humanity, and of the healing power that arises when voices join together. This tour is an invitation to gather once again, to chant together, and to celebrate the grace that continues to move through these mantras and through all of us.

Cyrille Aimรฉe (Surยญreal MยญA) is a FrenchยญDominican vocalist and actress. Winner of the Montreux Jazz Festival's Vocal Competition, the Sarah Vaughn International Jazz Vocal Competition and finalist in the Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition, Aimรฉe isโin the words of Will Friedwald of The Wall Street Journalโ"one of the most promising jazz singers of her generation." In the same Wall Street Journal feature (which included vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant), Friedwald declared both to be โastonishing creative singers, with a brilliant sound, fresh ideas, impeccable rhythm and an overall approach that honors tradition without being shackled to the past." Aimรฉe was born in Fontainebleau, France, to a French father and Dominican mother. Her introduction to jazz was the result of the fortuitous location of her upbringing, the village SamoisยญsurยญSeineโthe same place where legendary gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt had lived. Every June for decades, gypsies have descended upon Samois, setting up caravans in nearby meadows for the annual Django Reinhardt Festival. During those June nights many years ago, after her parents would fall asleep, a young, curious Aimรฉe would climb out her bedroom window and wander into the gypsy encampments. Aimรฉe would sing by the fire with Djangoโs descendents and began to fall in love with the gypsy way of lifeโscampering home before the sun rose. Explained Aimรฉe, "I was hypnotized by gypsy music which made me want to tap my feetอพ music that swings makes me so happy." As a teenager, Aimรฉe performed in various Parisian cafรฉs and clubs. When her family moved to Singapore, she remained in Paris to attend the American School of Modern Music. She also auditioned for "Star Academy," a kind of French "American Idol." Selected to be one of 16 semiยญfinalists, Aimรฉe had second thoughts when handed a contract that tied her up every which way for yearsโincluding the songs to sing. This was too much for her gypsy spiritโso she quit. The French media so pursued

Soda Blonde, an indie rock band, performs at The Crepe Place.
Hello from in here to all you out there. Fruit Batsโ eighth LP opens with this invocation, this call from an isolated vocal room to your headphones somewhere out in the world. Itโs a beckoning for your trust and attention, but also an assurance in lonely timesโa distillation of melancholy wrapped in a danceable waltz. โThe Pet Parade,โ the title track to Fruit Batsโ newest album, might be a surprising opening track for longtime fans of Eric D. Johnsonโs beloved indie folk-rock project. The six-and-a-half-minute tone poem smolders and drones over just two chords, inspired by the strange and silly community events that he saw growing up outside of Chicago, in La Grange, Illinois, in which people dressed up and showed off their pets. Decades later, The Pet Parade emerges in troubled times, living within what Johnson refers to as the beauty and absurdity of existence. At times upbeat and reassuring (โEagles Below Usโ) and at times quietly contemplative (โOn the Avalon Stairsโ), The Pet Parade marks a milestone for Johnson, who celebrates 20 years of Fruit Bats in 2021. In some ways still a cult band, in other ways a time-tested act, Fruit Bats has consistently earned enough small victories to carve out a career in a notoriously fickle scene.

Erelli exploded out of the gate in 1999 when he won the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Award in the wake of his "auspicious debut" (Billboard), joining the ranks of previous honorees like Lyle Lovett and Nanci Griffith. More recently, Erelli penned the anti-gun violence song "By Degrees," recorded in collaboration with Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, and others, which garnered a nomination for Song of the Year at the 2019 Americana Honors and Awards. He followed this honor with a pair of records that drew comparisons to both Tom Petty and John Prine, as well as praise for their energy, grace, and resilience. Now, on his fourteenth solo album Spring Green, Erelli delivers his most cohesive and emotionally resonant work to date-a meditation on vulnerability, endurance, and renewal. Ripatti & Rose - Live at Stockwell Cellars
Two internationally touring folk/Americana duos, Flagship Romance and The Rough & Tumble combine for a night of high energy, four part harmonies, infectious hooks and a roomful of laughter. On Friday October 9, 2026 they bring their Rough Romance show to The Ugly Mug in Soquel, CA. Doors at 6:30PM/show at 7PM. It took over 10 years and 500,000 miles of touring the indie/folk circuit and seeing each otherโs posters on venue walls before the two bands met. But it only took one meeting before theyโd started a text thread and concocted the idea of the Rough Romance tour. Itโs a night of open-armed, deep-in-the-belly-songs that are as intimate as they are universal and as delightful as your first cup of coffee. Itโs a jubilant show that has become the highlight of the year for many people to watch these four accomplished musicians and friends share the stage. Flagship Romance is an unforgettable alternative folk duo known for their breathtaking vocal harmonies, inspired songwriting, dynamic live show, and a remarkable on and off-stage chemistry that will leave you with the feeling that you made two new best friends. Married singers-songwriters Shawn Fisher and Jordyn Jackson effortlessly fuse technical precision in their impeccably tight vocal blend with an invigorating sense of emotional abandon in their energetic live persona. Performing each show as if it could be their last, this duo will have you questioning how their larger-than-life sound can come from just two voices and an acoustic guitar. The Rough & Tumble are a hardscrabble folk/Americana duo, made up of Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler. With accordions and guitars, close-harmonies, ukuleles and oddball percussion, their commanding stage presence and engaging performances have made them a not-to-miss band when they tour through town because you wonโt see the same show twice. They have been embraced by fans for their stark honesty, unique storytelling and well-crafted melodies especially after 2024โs release, Hy

โWell at least nobody could ever accuse us of releasing too much music!โ quips guitarist Greg Carmichael on the release of their latest EP The Empire of Lights, โbut I think our fans know by now that weโre a little obsessive about only releasing music when we have something ready that we really love.โ The four tracks on their latest release visit familiar themes for longtime fans, from the western shuffle of โ8,000 Milesโ to the reggae flavours of โAlisioโ, the upbeat joy of โBack to Backโ to the laid back groove of โOther Peopleโ. โWe hope thereโs something here for everyone,โ says Miles Gilderdale, โweโre very lucky that over the years weโve found fans that just get what weโre doing, so we can wear our influences on our sleeves and not have to try and fit into any one style.โ With over thirty five years of recording and touring, the bandโs longevity may be due in part to that spirit of never trying to fit in, but to just make music that they love, โI feel really grateful that weโve been on such a long journey with our fans and theyโre still there with us.โ Carmichael says, โWe talk after shows and itโs always such an honor to hear the stories of how our music has been the soundtrack to so many peopleโs livesโ

His newest project, Quite A Life, is like the exclamation point on his milestone year. Ten albums is a lot for any artist, let alone an indie artist who colored outside the lines, so to speak, LB says. Im just appreciative there was always somehow a path for me, no matter how impossible it seemed either on paper or in practice. As the first Asian-American to release a greatest hits compilation, hes pumped out multiple smash singles across four official studio albums. From Stop Complaining to Callin Out and I Like It, I Love It and I Changed My Mind, his material has always retained a musically eclectic feel.
