Concertino Strings October Concert

Concertino Strings will open its 6th concert season at the Boulder Creek United Methodist Church, 12855 Boulder Street, on October 14th, Wednesday, at 11:30 am and October 17th, Saturday at 3:00 pm. The 25-person string chamber orchestra, directed by Joanne Tanner and Renata Bratt, gathers from all over Santa Cruz County. The concert will feature familiar selections from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite (The Hall of the Mountain King, Anitra’s Dance, Ase’s Death, Solveig’s Song). Baroque fanfare will open the concert in Arcangelo Corelli’s Concerto Grosso No. 9 with Martin Gaskell on harpsichord. Harp soloist Jennifer Cass will join the orchestra both in Solveig’s Song from Peer Gynt and Grandjany’s Aria in Classic Style for harp and strings. Admission to concerts is FREE.
