The Prevedelli family has been farming its Watsonville land for more than 80 years, growing an extraordinary collection of organic apples that includes familiar favorites alongside unusual and historic varieties rarely found in supermarkets. During this special tasting at the event booth, you’ll have the opportunity to sample several apples side by side and discover just how different one variety can be from another—from crisp and honey-sweet to bright and tart, spicy, aromatic, or wonderfully complex. You’ll also hear about the history of Prevedelli Farms and some of the apples once widely grown in Santa Cruz County, including varieties the family continues to cultivate in an effort to keep them from disappearing.
