Kishi Bashi: Sonderlust 10th Anniversary Tour

Kishi Bashi brings his acclaimed live show to Santa Cruz on October 6 as he kicks off the second leg of his 2026 headlining tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of his beloved album Sonderlust. The tour celebrates Sonderlust (10th Anniversary Edition), released via Joyful Noise Recordings, with Kishi Bashi performing the landmark album in full. Originally released in 2016, Sonderlust marked a deeply personal evolution for the acclaimed singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, blending virtuosic violin, analog synths, soulful melodies, and emotional vulnerability into one of the most distinctive records of his career. Known for his captivating performances and unique ability to bridge classical and popular music, Kishi Bashi creates an immersive, cinematic live experience that is equal parts joyful, intimate, and deeply moving. The Santa Cruz performance marks the beginning of the tour’s second leg and offers fans a chance to experience Sonderlust a decade after its original release, alongside highlights from throughout his celebrated catalog. Kishi Bashi most recently released his fifth studio album, Kantos, a kaleidoscopic journey inspired by science fiction, philosophy, and ancient ruins. His acclaimed 2019 album Omoiyari and accompanying documentary explored Japanese American identity and the WWII incarceration of Japanese Americans, earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Arts and Culture Documentary.
