Capitola Plein Air

Artists will set up their easels throughout the city, transforming Capitola into an open-air gallery. Locals and visitors are invited to watch the creative process unfold in real time and experience the unique energy of art in the making. Explore Capitola and find the 2026 Capitola Plein Air artists as they paint around town. Collect trading cards from artists you visit and bring your collection to the Exhibition to enter the raffle. The grand prize basket includes gifts from the event’s sponsors and participating businesses such as Palace Art & Office Supply, Paradise Beach Grille, Santa Cruz CORE, and more! The week culminates in a public exhibition and sale, where the completed works are showcased and available for purchase. A $1000 first prize sponsored by Dan Aspromonte will be awarded by a panel of esteemed judges. Dive into hands-on art activities for kids and adults with Palace Art Supply, enjoy delicious eats from our food trucks, delight in live music, cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award, and snag your favorite pieces!
