Capitola Plein Air Quick Paint!

Artists will set up their easels throughout the city, transforming Capitola into an open-air gallery. Locals and visitors are invited to watch the creative process unfold in real time and experience the unique energy of art in the making. Explore Capitola and find the 2026 Capitola Plein Air artists as they paint around town. Collect trading cards from artists you visit and bring your collection to the Exhibition to enter the raffle. The grand prize basket includes gifts from the event’s sponsors and participating businesses such as Palace Art & Office Supply, Paradise Beach Grille, Santa Cruz CORE, and more! Immerse yourself in the beauty of plein air painting as the 40 accomplished 2026 Capitola Plein Air artists take on the challenge of creating an entirely new piece of artwork in just two and a half hours! Enjoy the energy of live music by Ripatti & Rose and take part in a free community art activity hosted by Palace Art Supply. When the artists’ time is up, take part in the tradition by casting your ballot for the Quick Paint People’s Choice Award!
