Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park: Sandhills Tour

Get ready to hike around an ancient seafloor! On this 1.5 mile hike through the Sandhills, which will last approximately 2 hours, participants can meander through sandy soils on the mountain top, about 800 feet above present day sea level. Explore this beautiful landscape and learn about the rare and unique things that call it home. The hike is recommended for ages 8 and up. Children need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Plan to meet in the parking lot of the campground (located off Graham Hill Rd.).

Community Music School of Santa Cruz hosts their annual fundraiser at Steel Bonnet’s shady dog-friendly beer garden in Scotts Valley on Sunday, October 11th, from 2-5pm. The first two hours will be a concert of live music from throughout the Celtic world. The last hour will be a traditional Irish session, where audience members can bring their instruments and join the performers. An assortment of beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase, as well as snacks. A huge “pick-your-prize” raffle also awaits! SV Parks & Recreation will be hosting our annual "Holiday Craft & Cocoa Event", join us for a fun filled holiday evening for families & kids of all ages! This year were starting the event an hour early and your tickets includes crafts, cocoa & cookie decorating!
