Dear Evan Hansen

πŸ“ Colligan Theater
πŸ•’ 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM Β· $28

A Santa Cruz Premiere! Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen comes to Santa Cruz for the first time in a fully staged production with a live orchestra. The musical follows Evan Hansen, a lonely high school student struggling with social anxiety who longs to feel like he belongs. After a misunderstanding following the death of a classmate, Evan finds himself caught in a lie that unexpectedly brings him closer to the grieving familyβ€”and gives him the connection he’s always wanted. But as the truth becomes harder to hide, Evan must face the consequences of the choices he’s made. Filled with unforgettable songs by Academy Award, Grammy, and Tony-winning songwriting team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman), Dear Evan Hansen is a moving story, with both humor and deep emotionality, about friendship, family, forgiveness, and the universal desire to be seen and accepted. Recommended for ages 13 and up. Contains themes of suicide, grief, mental health, and strong emotional content.

Bean Creek

πŸ“ Ugly Mug CoffeeHouse
πŸ•’ 7:00 PM Β· $30

When you’re voted the Best Band by the Northern California Bluegrass Society, multiple times, that’s something to crow about. Santa Cruz’ Bean Creek is at the front of the pack leading the California traditional vibe into the 21st Century. They often find underrepresented songs and bring them to life with tight pickin’, furious rhythm guitar, plucking banjo and soaring harmonies. Billy Pitrone, Sarah Eblen, Rob Horgan and Henry & Ella Warde bring craftsmanship and love to their selections. The Ugly Mug is crushing the creative bookings, allowing fans and bands to share musical intimacy. Leave your moonshine at home. -DNA; Good Times Santa Cruz

Bunko Get Your Tickets Here!! Bunko is a genre-defying rock band from the South Bay that has built a reputation for unforgettable live performances throughout San Jose, Santa Cruz, and the greater Bay Area. Equal parts theatrical, intelligent, and completely unpredictable, Bunko blends elements of alternative rock, progressive music, punk, new wave, and experimental art into a show that's as entertaining as it is musically accomplished. Described as "the band you can't unhear," Bunko delivers a high-energy performance filled with intricate musicianship, sharp songwriting, and a healthy dose of absurdity. Their live shows balance humor with technical precision, creating an experience that feels somewhere between a rock concert, performance art, and a science-fiction fever dream. ( Metro SV ) Over the years, Bunko has become a familiar name on stages throughout San Jose, Santa Cruz, and surrounding Northern California venues, earning a loyal following of fans who appreciate original music that refuses to fit neatly into a single genre. Whether performing in intimate clubs or larger live music venues, the band's energy, originality, and stage presence consistently leave a lasting impression. ( Metro SV ) For audiences looking for something beyond the ordinary, Bunko offers a show that's creative, unpredictable, and impossible to ignore.
