Elmo - Roots Music plays Henflings Tavern on Friday, August 28 from 8:00 to 11:00 pm, taking you along the backroads of Americana: Blues, Jazz, Groovy Jams, and New Orleans sounds. Elmo is a prominent West Coast American roots and jam band based out of the Santa Cruz area. Veterans of local venues throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area, the group features a lineup of seasoned musicians from the California Jam Band and Blues scenes: Ron Tomasello: Guitar and Vocals; Steve Hunt: Keyboards; Bill Ward: Bass; Kris DiNoto: Drums; Ray Hauck: Percussion 🎸💃 No cover! In an interview on the back porch that afternoon during sound check, rock journalist Andrew “Tuck” Tuckman wrote, “Ron Tomasello is one of the greatest guitarists around. Flat out, hands down, without question.” The band was known for playing roots music: Latin, blues, jazz, country, and the swampy sounds of New Orleans, drawing inspiration from the backroads of Americana.
